Experience
I have experience teaching young children in a classroom setting through my work as an assistant ballet teacher. I also have extensive experience babysitting for a large family of four young children. I have no formal experience with tutoring, but I have been helping my younger siblings and their friends with school since they started 3rd grade and continue to help them with their studies as they enter 10th grade. I help them with homework, teach them lessons they didn't understand in class, organize their studying, and help them stay on task when necessary. I also provided help for my friends last year with SAT prep and college application essay review. I help classmates with essays, homework, and test prep on a regular basis. I got a 2160 on the SAT (790 writing, 740 critical reading, 630 math). I took two AP classes: French (5) and World History (5). I also took 5 IB classes (for those of you unfamiliar with IB, it's a European equivalent to AP graded out of 7): Economics HL (6), English A1 HL (6), Biology HL (5), Math Studies (7), Spanish Ab Initio (6). I was the editor of my high school's yearly Humanities publication, a member of NHS, and the recipient of the Humanities Excellence Award for my high school. I was an all honors/AP/IB student throughout high school and graduated with a 4.416 weighted GPA. I want to be a tutor because I am passionate about learning and love helping others find that same passion through their schoolwork. I think that my genuine interest and love for learning comes through when I work with others.
