Experience
Website: www.williamcozart.com My website, www.williamcozart.com, contains a photo, information about my teaching experience and other qualifications, and my philosophy of teaching. After over 40 years of university teaching (including 10 years in the Humanities Division of the California Institute of Technology), I retired and have been tutoring students ever since. For the last year, I have been tutoring students in the Washington Heights area of New York City (where I live). I tutor students who are preparing for the SAT/ACT/PSAT/SAT Lit with hopes of being admitted to Ivy League Colleges or Universities. I also tutor middle school students who are preparing for tests whose scores can admit them to prestigious public and private high schools in the New York City area. I also give workshops in persuasive speaking and writing for employees in the business world who must give presentations to potential investors or clients. I have loved being a teacher all my life and, now that I'm retired, I find that tutoring is a wonderful way to continue helping young people realize their dreams as they prepare for future careers.

Hobbies
I have two children -- a son, who is a doctor, and a daughter, who is a New York actress -- and they are the joys of my life. Nine months ago, my daughter made me a grandfather for the first time: an enchanting little girl entered our lives, and I am blessed to live in the same building in Washington Heights where she and her husband live -- so babysitting has, once again, become a passion! I love movies, classical music, the theatre, traveling, reading (there is NEVER enough time!), going to MoMA, the Met (both the opera and the art museum) the Museum of Natural History, having picnics in Central Park, going to lectures and concerts, spending time with friends and family. I always try to read what my students are reading, what they are passionate about exploring. Recently this has meant brushing up on my Latin, Tolkien, Greek mythology, Star Wars movies, Joseph Campbell, books on climate change, Wagner's "Ring," Marvel Comics -- spending time with students helps keep me passionate about life.
