Education
I graduated from The College of New Jersey in May of 2015 with a degree in Applied Mathematics, and was recently awarded the honor of being placed on the Dean's List for the Spring 2015 semester (requirement being a 3.5 GPA for the semester). My future plans include pursuing a Master's in the field of Mathematics. My general interests include Technology and Mathematics
Experience
I began tutoring during my freshman year of high school, which totals to about 8 years worth of experience. One thing I have come to value tremendously is being able to interact with students, something that is difficult to do in a lecture setting. To reflect this, I attempt to have students work through problem sets of increasing difficulty level to reinforce learning rather than simply lecturing material. This keeps the student more engaged, and is usually a productive use of time. Attempting problems, identifying areas of weakness, and then correcting those issues often produces the best results. In addition to being able to work closely with students, I have also come to enjoy being able to work with students from a wide variety of backgrounds. Some of these experiences include: -Being a private Mathematics and Science Tutor for High School and College Students -Being a tutor at the Jones Farm Prison for inmates trying to earn their GED -Being a tutor at the Kumon Learning Center. I particularly enjoy tutoring Mathematics because of my love for it. Sharing that with other people has been a great experience, and something I still feel great joy in doing. My scores on relevant standardized tests include: -790/800 on the Math section of the SAT -166/170 on the quantitative section of the GRE
