Experience
As an instructor of English at the college level for the past four years, and with over thirteen years of experience in communications as a strategist and writer, I, possess the qualifications to excel as an English adjunct, writing specialist, or professional tutor in English. Tutoring is particularly attractive because the demographics I serve at SUNY WCC so closely mirror those represented on the high school level. And with a combined eighteen years of teaching and writing, I have accumulated a wealth of strategies, materials, and relationships that will serve to bolster my efforts in providing professional training to young adults and beyond. No doubt all will benefit from my experience in teaching concepts in grammar, essay writing, creative writing, and research. Additionally, my experience in public relations as a writer who has worked on behalf of iconic figures and organizations--and whose work has appeared either verbatim or in part in publications such as Progress Magazine, The Caring Times, NV Magazine, and The World and I--suggests a certain level of energy and creativity that speaks to a variety of personalities and learning styles. I hold a Master’s Degree from The City College of New York and am currently a doctoral student at St. John’s University in Queens. I also hold certificates for on-line teaching and Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL). I am seeking to work with very motivated and progressive individuals irrespective of skill level in exchange for complete dedication, an extremely vivacious and likable personality, a superior skill set, a very progressive attitude, a high aptitude for learning, and a flexible nature.
