Friendship Tutor Center- tutored children ages 6-12 in inner-city Rochester. I want to be a tutor because I am interested in helping students to achieve their highest potential. I believe in education as the path to increasing one's livelihood. I helped to start a group on the SUNY Geneseo campus dedicated towards creating a community-based relationship with a school in Ghana, Africa. In addition to fundraising to help the school with necessary materials for education, we worked to raise awareness about Ghanaian culture and education. I am proud to say the group has carried on with much enthusiasm even after the original founding members graduated.
