Education
My name is Anna! I'm a naturally curious person who enjoys taking the time to puzzle out just what the people I work with need to succeed. I recently got my JD from The George Washington University Law School, where I graduated with honors, and I also graduated with honors from The American University when I got my BA. My undergraduate degree is actually interdisciplinary: on my actual diploma, it says "Communications, Legal Institutions, Economics, and Government." Basically, I like to solve challenges, and I've spent my academic career building up a variety of lenses through which to see these challenges.
Experience
I love languages! It seems simple, but loving language - all its intricacies, all its weird little facets - gives me lots of ways to relate language arts to students who are struggling, or find it boring. My terminal degree is a JD, a law degree, which is made up of reading and writing of all kinds, from reading old English cases to writing persuasive briefs targeted to particular judges to emailing clients so they understand what's happening in their case. I also coach mock trial, which in many ways, is competitive communication.
