Experience
I have extensive previous tutoring experience in mathematics, chemistry, reading, writing, Mandarin, and standardized testing. I have worked with students ranging from the 3rd grade through high school levels. In addition to subject tutoring, I have substantial knowledge of the ACT, AP chemistry exam and course, and the SAT II subject test in chemistry. I want to be a tutor because I enjoy helping students learn and succeed. I have seen how the current distance learning environment can negatively affect students' abilities to learn and enjoy their coursework. As a tutor, I want to help students overcome some of the obstacles that distance learning poses and share my excitement for learning with my students! The courses I took in high school include AP Chemistry, AP Calculus BC, AP Chinese, AP Physics C Mechanics, AP World History, Honors Chemistry, Honors Pre-calculus, Honors Algebra II, and Honors Geometry. The courses I have taken in college thus far include Honors General Chemistry, Organic Chemistry I, Statistics, Psychology, and Mandarin. In addition to my coursework, I am involved in biochemistry research at Duke, where I am studying the phenomenon of 'biased agonism' in G-protein-coupled receptors.
