Experience
I specialize in test prep for the math portions of the SAT and ACT, as well as physics and general math at all levels. Students who work with me see great improvements in test scores and grades as well as a heightened self-confidence and ability to utilize math as an everyday tool. Between teaching and tutoring, I have 7 very successful years with hundreds of students of wide-ranging ability and am especially good with those who struggle. I taught Physics at the Regents and AP levels at a severely disadvantaged high school in Queens, but consistently achieved Regents pass rates that were 25% and 15% above city and state averages with an average incoming student 3 years deficient. respectively. To meet state standards in my situation required me to use 135 hours of class time to rectify years of mediocre instruction. I did this remarkably well, and my students lead the school for 4 years with an average pass rate of 86%.
