*I've found that tutoring via Skype has worked really well for families and myself -- it makes rescheduling a class easy and doesn't require travel time, which is often an extra expense. I am willing to meet in person, however, if we live near each other* I currently tutor a seventh grade student in grammar, writing and other English skills. I'm also a graduate student at Columbia University where I am pursuing a master's in science and health journalism. As an undergraduate Writing Fellow at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, I tutored other undergraduates who struggled with writing and grammar. Over a three year period I taught more than 90 ESL students, and students enrolled in sociology, english and history courses. Before attending graduate school, I worked for four years as an education reporter. I earned bylines at The Associated Press, The Fresno Bee newspaper and the Ames Tribune.
