Education

I have my Bachelors of Elementary Education (Nursery -6th ) through SUNY Old Westbury College. I also have my Masters of Literacy Education (Birth-6th) at CUNY Queens College in Flushing , NY. I am Certified in Early Childhood Education (Birth -2nd) and Literacy Education (B-6) I have many years of Professional Development courses and am in the process of getting my TESOL (Teaching English as a Second Language) certificate online, then at Hunter College in NYC.

Experience

I have 15 years tutoring experience as well as 15 years teaching experience. My teaching experience is in Early Childhood. My tutoring experience is in Early Childhood, Elementary Education, Gifted and Talented Test Prep as well as Writing through College level. I enjoy tutoring because I actually love what I do...Teaching! I also love working with children, they are very curious and much more capable (of many things) that many people think. However, I always work at their developmental level. I do challenge my students, but I do not make them work at a higher developmental level than they are. This can make the child feel frustrated. Children should feel challenged yet feel happy about their accomplishments.
