I am a New York State dual licensed Elementary Education (Pre-K, Kindergarten, Grades 1-6) and ESL education for grade Pre K – 12th. I earned a Bachelor degree of Science in elementary education and Masters in Childhood education from Queens College. I also received her TESOL certification: teaching English to speakers of other languages from St John’s University . I have been working as an educator for seven years with grade K-2 and 3- 5. I am passionate about working with children and encouraging them to go beyond to succeed. I am trained in Teachers College Reading and Writing Project, Fountas and Pinell, Wilson Fundations,I am experienced in teaching phonemic awareness, phonics, letter identification/sound, decoding spelling, fluency and comprehension with a multisensory approach. In order to drive student learning, I can administer Teacher College and Fountas & Pinell assessments in reading to modify her instruction and meet each student need. I enjoy helping students develop a passion for learning by making it fun and creative with anchor charts and hands on activities. I have a passion for children and enjoys seeing them grow academically, emotionally and cognitively. I motivate children to try their best at everything they do and think of different ways to overcome an obstacle. I also believes the skills children learn can always be applied in their lives. I maintain an open communication with parents and provides helpful strategies to help children succeed.
