Experience
I earned my bachelor's degree in Biomedical Engineering at Columbia University in New York City. I studied Computer Science and Electrical Engineering at the same time as I was earning my degree. I have always had a leaning towards STEM subjects, and have tutored students in these areas since I was in high school. But I am not one for sticking within expected norms, and I have also learned strong communication skills, both verbally and in writing. Also, I am bilingual, with English and Spanish, and enjoy tutoring students in either of these languages. So I am available to tutor basically any math class, from the most basic through the most difficult college courses like statistics and advanced calculus, and also tutor in English, technology, computer science, and in basic study skills like time management and organization. My method in tutoring is quite practical. I first work with my student to discover and isolate problem areas, and then develop individualized learning plans aimed at improving the student's knowledge, while providing problem solving tips along the way. I guide my students as they research and discover many answers for themselves, as that gives them more confidence and more thorough learning on any given subject.
