Experience
I attended Canisius College, where I earned my bachelor's degree in English and Creative Writing. I went on to Fordham University, where I earned my master's degree in English, with a concentration in Writing. I'm now studying for my master's degree in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) K-12 at Columbia University's Teachers College. I'm studying through a program focused on recruiting and preparing high school teachers to teach in the most needful schools in New York City. I have experiencing teaching students in English at all levels, including reading, writing, essays crafting and editing, literature, grammar, and other English subjects, including ESL/ ELL. I have a passion for the English language. When I tutor students, I strive to get to know them, including where they are in their learning process, and go from there. By getting to know them well, I am able to develop unique lesson plans based on their needs, abilities, and goals. I also like to find out the ways that each student best learns, and adjust my teaching methods to those that will work best for them as an individual. I feel like teaching is part art, part science, and provide my students with encouragement throughout the time we spend together.
