I love to learn, and I love teaching others subjects that I enjoy. I love working in the classroom with students, but I also enjoy providing students individualized attention, which I can do as a tutor. I'm currently attending the City College of New York to earn my masters degree in education, focusing on TESOL and bilingual teaching. I speak both Spanish and English, and I've studied in Tanzania and taught English there. I know what students are going through when they take on a new language, but I also know the rewards of developing proficiency in a new language as well. I first visited Tanzania as a high school student, where I was able to learn about how girls experience education there. I found the dedication of these students extremely inspirational because of the grace they showed in overcoming obstacles to be able to attend school. When I was a college student, I had the opportunity to go back to the same Tanzanian school and teach English. I've also been able to teach math and reading to adults looking to earn their GEDs. I'm very empathetic and flexible, and I'm always excited to help new students reach their academic goals.
