ExperienceFor as long as I can remember, I've had a passion for working in the field of education. There's nothing quite like helping a student find their own "Aha!" moment, and finally achieve a breakthrough in a subject they've been struggling with for awhile. It's exciting to see someone build their academic confidence and curiosity in real-time, right in front of my eyes. I'm based out of New York City, where I enjoy studying medicine and using electronics when I'm not in the classroom with my students. I can help students with a variety of classes like algebra, statistics, programming, and standardized test preparation, amongst other things. I have a three step approach to tutoring that I've developed through my interactions with students. I begin by figuring out what my student's problem areas are, and then addressing those first. Next, I try and keep classes interesting by relating the material to the student's life. Lastly, when possible I use the student's existing knowledge and teach them critical thinking skills to show how interconnected many things can be. I have my degree from Hunter College where I started my career as a scientist and teacher. I look forward to working with you to help you find success as a student.
