I'm a tutor that is based out of New York City, where I enjoy writing, listening to music, and cooking when I'm not in the classroom working with students. I have my bachelor's degree from Wesleyan University, where I graduated with honors. I've worked as a tutor for many years, where I've taught lessons in English, writing, and English as a second language, amongst other things. I've also helped students with their standardized test preparation and have served as a writing mentor at Wesleyan. My approach to the tutoring process is to focus on long-term learning. I work on developing my students' ability to think critically in addition to whatever course they came to me for help with. This allows my students to develop the skills and confidence they need to become self-sustaining, lifelong learners even after we stop working together. As a tutor, I see my role as being someone to help you set goals and do what's needed to reach them. I provide individualized lesson plans that target my students' specific areas of weakness. I'd love to use the skills I've spent my life developing to help you get more out of your education.
