I'm a tutor that is based out of New York City, where I enjoy cooking, writing poetry, and going hiking when I'm not in the classroom working with students. I have my bachelor's degree in history from Colby College, where I graduated with cum laude honors. I also won the annual prize for best history student both my junior and senior year. As a tutor, I'm able to help students in a variety of subject areas. Some of the lessons I've taught in the past have been in French, English, writing, and standardized test preparation, amongst other things. I know that every student learns differently, which is why I take care to get to know each one of my students. Once I learn a student's strengths and weaknesses, I can use that information to develop individualized learning plans. These learning plans provide targeted exercises that seek to eliminate that student's problem areas. I owe my own academic success to the wonderful tutors and teachers I've had the privilege of working with. I hope I can use the skills I've developed throughout my academic career to help my students find their own success academically. I'm looking forward to helping you improve your skills and find success.
