Experience
I currently attend Columbia University as a graduate student, where I am working on my masters in Public Health. I attended Reed College and received an Anthropology undergraduate degree. Upon graduating, I received my certificate in English Language Teaching to Adults and had the opportunity to spend the next two years in Colombia teaching English to local young learners as well as adults. I was able to teach a class on American studies at the Pontifical Xavierian University to the college students in Bogata. As a result of these opportunities, I have gained experiences in tutoring classes with up to forty students, as well as the chance to work with students one-on-one. It is my goal as a tutor to get to know my students so that I can learn what each student's individual learning style is. With this knowledge, I can tailor my sessions to meet my student's unique needs by offering a matching teaching style as well as approaches and structure that have proven effective in the past. I believe that all of my students can achieve success with the right tools and support. When I am not tutoring, I enjoy reading, debating, and playing Rugby.
