I'm originally from Germany, and have been living in New York for a few years now. I earned my bachelor's degree from the Professional College in Hamburg, Germany, where I studied Library and Information Science. I focused on archiving images, and now work as a photo researcher and archivist for various publishers and agencies. Being from Germany, and completely comfortable in English or German, I am in a good spot to tutor students in learning not just the German language, but the German culture, as well. I can help students in their early years of German with grammar and vocabulary, or I can work with more experienced students, tutoring them through conversations or reading and writing and analysis in German. One thing I do with many advanced students is use actual articles in German newspapers or magazines, having them read the articles and then discussing them in German. I can also help non-German speakers who are going to be visiting Germany, and would like enough functional knowledge of the language to better enjoy their time there. I also have experience tutoring professionals who have business they need to conduct in German. I develop a comfortable learning environment for any kind of student, and my students and I tend to enjoy our sessions together.
