Experience

I have a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology, and during the course of my career I have spent much time doing research, writing, conducting clinical interventions and assessments, teaching, and presenting. Prior to graduate school, I worked as a research assistant and research coordinator where much of my jobs included scientific writing. Despite having a strong hand in science, I completed a heavy humanities course load, where I loved literature, English language, and other forms of writing. Throughout graduate school, I have taught and been an invited guest lecturer for many undergraduate and graduate psychology and research methods, and have mentored students in writing, professional development, and public speaking. I am available to help people develop a resume, C.V., or cover letter, or assist with application materials. I also provide coaching in public speaking and presentation delivery. I am reliable, experienced, and approachable. I am sure to tailor my lesson plans to students' needs and styles and value flexibility in helping them achieve their goals. I am new to the Wyzant community, and, therefore do not yet have much of ratings base, however, please know that my expertise runs deep. Please feel free to reach out with any questions you may have! Specific subject qualifications: Writing/English: A significant part of completing a PhD is writing and language; these were also some of my favorite topics in high school and college, as well, and I have great passion for them! Additionally, I have written book chapters in published academic books/manuals, as well as academic journal articles in peer-reviewed academic journals. Statistics/SPSS: A doctorate could not be completed without significant experience in statistics - as part of mine, SPSS became like a second language to me! Public speaking/professional development: I have presented at conferences, seminars, and professional development workshops many times over the past decade, so I come with much experience in this! Additionally, I love to help people in learning how to write CVs/resumes/cover letters and prepare for interviews and presentations.
