Currently I am attending Columbia University, where I am working toward degrees in both Math and Chemical Physics. I have spent more than three years as an individual tutors for students studying a range of subjects in high school and college. Most frequently, I assist students in the fields of Science and Math, but I've spent some time with almost any subject imaginable and feel confident in my ability to make progress with a student, no matter the class material. I am also experienced in assisting with preparation for exams such as the ACT or SAT. One of the facets of tutoring that I find it important to stress is self-sufficiency. Students must be taught how to succeed on their own without the oversight of a teacher or tutor. I have developed skills that allow me to point my students in the proper direction without doing the work for them. When a student is finished with our tutoring sessions they will be able to complete any necessary school work just as well on their own as they did during our lessons. In my free time, I enjoy losing myself in a good book and also like to stay active by riding my bicycle.
