Columbia University in the City of New York - Current Undergrad, Political Science and Government
I graduated from Berkeley High School in 2015, earning the International Baccalaureate Diploma. I'm in my first year working on my bachelor's in political science at Columbia University-New York City. I'm minoring in human rights and East Asian studies. I began tutoring while applying to CUNY. I worked with the non-profit Matriculate to advise low-income students in college selection and application. While working with these students, I learned the value test prep. I help students prepare for the SAT and PSAT subject tests, including mathematics, writing skills, and writing and language. I also offer tutoring services in IB environmental studies, IB language, high school business, and IB economics, among other subjects. I work hard to encourage my students to reach higher standards. By teaching to their unique learning style and goals, I believe every student can achieve total academic success. I want to make learning fun and successful, mixing engaging games with broken down concepts to ensure full absorption. I also teach students valuable test skills and strategies that can be implemented beyond their exams. In my free time, I enjoy debating politics, taking in shows at the local theatre, and exploring the various restaurants in New York City. I also love to cook.
