Petar "Casey" D.

Private tutor in New York, NY

Education

Graduate school: Boston University (withdrew from a PhD program in Mechanical Engineering in 2015). Undergraduate: Mechanical Engineering, 3.83 GPA, graduated in 2014.

Experience

GRE scores: 170 Quantitative, 169 Verbal, 5.0 Analytical Writing SAT scores: 770 English, 800 Math SAT subject test scores: 770 Chemistry, 800 Math Level 2, 800 Physics I started tutoring in college--about five years ago now. The opportunity to impart to my students some of the hard work I had put into learning was very rewarding. Quite often, I found that explaining a concept in a way that was accessible to peers even expanded my own understanding of the concept. I did some graduate-school work at Boston University in Mechanical Engineering, which involved being a teaching assistant for a year. I quickly discovered that the aspect of engineering I liked the most was the fundamental science behind it. Naturally, that includes a lot of mathematics--the language of science--which I also enjoy for its own sake. Since then, I have tutored many NYC high school and college students in math, physics, and test prep.
