Hello! My name is Max and I'm an actor living on the Upper West Side. I recently graduated with a Masters in Classical Acting from The London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art. Before beginning my actor training, I graduated with a BA in Chinese and Theater at Dartmouth College. As a Chinese major, I studied abroad at Beijing Normal University, and returned to China in my senior year to translate for Dartmouth's premier acapella group, the Dartmouth Aires. At the end of my senior year, I was a recipient of the PRAY Prize for Excellence in Chinese. But my passion for Chinese language began long before college. I took Chinese all four years of high school, and loved every minute of it. I know what it's like to be taking Chinese alongside other challenging high school classes, and understand what it takes to succeed in Chinese classes at all levels. Whether you're a middle schooler starting out, or a high schooler preparing for the AP exam, we can work together to help bring your speaking/listening/reading/writing skills to the next level! And of course, while Chinese is my specialty, I tutor in a range of other subjects too! Recent subjects include eight grade math, and audition preparation. As a professional actor, communication is my greatest skill. I think clear, efficient communication between a tutor and a student is essential. I pride myself on using a warm and fun approach to get to know my students and their needs.

Hobbies
When I'm not on stage, on set, or working with a student, I enjoy running, biking, playing tennis, and skiing. I also love getting together and spending quality time with family and friends. Favorite foods are undoubtedly sushi, and anything Indian. Traveling to new places makes me more excited than anything (except the prospect of having dinner at a good sushi or Indian restaurant).
