Sarah W.
Private tutor in New York, NY
Education
I graduated with a GPA of 3.84 from Williams College, where I majored in Russian and history. I was awarded Magna Cum Laude for my high GPA, and inducted into the Phi Beta Kappa honor society, which recognizes excellence in undergraduate education. I also completed a semester at Smolny College, St. Petersburg State University, while I was studying abroad in Russia.
Experience
I love to tutor. It is the perfect fit for my energetic and social personality (not to mention my love of language!) My experience shows just how much I enjoy this job. In high school, I taught reading, math, and writing to underserved elementary school students in Ardmore, PA. In college, I worked for three years as a writing tutor at the Williams College Writing Center. I also led the center as a coordinator. In my senior year, I worked as a Russian tutor. Since graduation, I have been freelancing for clients throughout New York City. I specialize in writing and foreign languages.

Hobbies
I have too many hobbies to count. I have played soccer throughout my life, and continue to play in pick-up groups. I run, play guitar, and experiment with original recipes (with mixed results!) Most of all, I love art, and I'm currently saving up for a nice set of oil paints. More broadly, my career interests are in Russian history and foreign policy towards the post-Soviet space. I am working towards a career in academia or government.
