Experience
I specialize in college application essay writing support and have extensive experience tutoring high school students in French. I also provide support with English, History, Geography, Philosophy, Writing, Literature and Social Studies. Knowing that much academic difficulty arises from boredom and poor teaching, my primary goal as a tutor is to help students be excited about the subject at hand, appreciate the learning process and understand why they are being asked to learn the material. I have transformed students' relationships to their school work and seen not only their grades, but also their academic engagement soar. Starting from a young age, I was fortunate enough to have wonderful teachers who influenced me deeply. By the time I was twelve, I realized I wanted to be a teacher too. In high school, I taught through my school and local summer camps. I began to provide one-on-one support as I started college, and took this past school year off to learn more about teaching and tutor students in my home of San Francisco, CA. I plan to teach high school full time post-graduation from Columbia University.
