Private tutor in New York, NY

Education

I graduated from Princeton in 2016 with a major in Molecular Biology and a minor in European Cultural Studies.

Experience

I've tutored several students, ranging from middle school to high school, in biology, emphasizing both the academics and proper study style and preparation techniques. I've helped students prepare for both the AP Biology exams as well as the SAT and SAT II Biology, teaching test taking techniques. I have had success with my students both in terms of grades in school and high scores on standardized tests because I emphasize the importance of understanding fundamental concepts, not just memorizing facts endlessly. I work with my students to master more than just a subject; we work together to perfect a study style. I believe that the skills we develop in each tutoring session are ones that can be used beyond the science realm, helping students excel in any academic field they study.

Hobbies

I love academic research -- I worked in a developmental biology lab during all four years at Princeton, and once I graduated, started working full time in a lab at UPenn and now I'm employed in one at Columbia. I also love more than just science. I'm a huge British Romanticism fan and spend my free time reading and hanging out with my friends.
