I believe in letting my students find the answers to challenging problems. When they are given the chance to find their own way, it gives them a personal understanding of the material and builds confidence. One of my favorite ways to teach a subject is to assign them a paper. Essay writing is a unique academic discipline because it requires the writer to commit to an opinion. When students take a stance on an issue, it makes the content more personal and easier to remember. I have a bachelor's in Anthropology and Japanese from the University of Rochester. I have a lot of experience helping students with the SAT exam as well. In college, I was a writing tutor. I have also had a chance to teach abroad as an English tutor in Japan. I am currently a Writing, Literacy, History, and Japanese tutor. It is very fulfilling to have a job that allows me to share my passion for writing. I love sports. Some of my hobbies include rowing and volleyball. In my spare time, I also read as much as I can. I enjoy Asian books, Modern Fiction, and the Classics. My favorite show is House of Cards. I look forward to helping any student who is struggling.
