I aspire to become a teacher, as I have an undying passion for this field of work. In fact, it doesn't even feel like work. That is why I am here. I tutored for four summers, consecutively, at a Creative Writing and Theatre program that is held in Winchester each year. At Sarah Lawrence College, where I received my undergraduate degree in 2014, I also participated in academic tutoring. So, my experiences vary widely. I just happen to prefer the creative aspect of learning.I believe in collaboration between the student and teacher. An academic relationship is a relationship, nonetheless. Even as an instructor, you are constantly learning new things. So, open communication and respect is necessary to nurture a strong foundation that will facilitate student success. There is nothing wrong with having a little fun with education. My approach is to get students engaged so that they will retain information. I have worked with various age groups and have found success with all. Tutoring is so much more than just feeding answers. It is the act of igniting a flame in students' minds, so as to light their way down the path of success.
