ExperienceI love teaching, and my students range from K-8 all the way to post- graduates looking for help with resumes and essays. I've taught a class at the School at Columbia University on the SSAT/SHSAT/ISEE tests. I've also taught SAT prep at The United Nations School (UNIS) and the High School for Leadership and Public Service. I am teaching another SHSAT class this fall and an ELA class this fall and spring at a public school on the UWS.
Between college and grad school, I wrote a study guide to how to read a Russian author, which is still in print. If you are interested I can
show you a copy (I promise, you won't have to read it!). It is a book
geared to college and grad students, but it shows both critical
thinking on the topic and methods to increase reading comprehension on the seemingly complex short stories of an author, all while making the reading accessible to a wider audience.
While in business school, I was asked to be a lead teaching assistant in organization behavior. In this role, I helped design the course, and also graded essays and worked with students. This is a sampling of the relevant experience I bring to the task at hand. I have taken and excelled in ERBs, SATs and SAT II subject tests, LSATs, and GMATs.
In terms of my tutorees, I can work with them on school homework
and/or design a reading comprehension and writing program using books that are age appropriate but pleasing to them. I can supplement with short exercises and drills to reinforce this work. Basically, I aim to engage and instill a love of reading, which will hopefully be for life(!), while also improving their skills in reading and writing. I am also a master of helping develop organizational skills.
I am a master tutor of ELA and NY State Math.
In terms of older students, I am an excellent editor of college essays and general skills in the reading and writing area at the high school level. I also teach subjects in Law and Business Law.

She is great and she helped a lot! She answered all the questions I emailed her and she always got back to me very quickly via email when I emailed her questions about my homework. She is an awesome tutor to work with in person as well. She is so fun to work with and so smart! Thanks to her explanations I could comprehend the complex reading materials. And thanks to her feedback on my writing I was able to submit excellent quality work on time for my class. She also really helped me to focus. I highly recommend Jennifer!
Jennifer did a wonderful job helping my son prepare for the NYS 7th grade ELA and Math tests. She was very patient and organized. My son seemed to always be engaged and challenged to do better. His ELA scores improved dramatically as a result of his time with Jennifer.
Working with Jen was great. She definitely helped me out in the subjects I needed help with and broke difficult concepts down to me step-by-step in simple terms. With Jen's assistance, I got an A in one of my most difficult classes! I highly recommend her! A++++
Jennifer possesses excellent research and presentation skills. She was able to compile top notch and engaging material to guide me to my goals. She also possesses impeccable grammar and stellar communication skills. With Jennifer’s help I was able to engage my interview with full confidence. If you’re serious about getting ahead, contact Jennifer.
I have been taking copyright law classes from Jennifer for more than two months for two hours a day and two to three days a week. I definitely recommend law school, LLM, and international students take legal and English classes from her for many reasons. First of all, she has a great educational background from different areas. Before I started to take tutoring from her, I had a lack of understanding of legal readings, subjects, vocabulary, and other issues. After two weeks studying with her, I had greatly progressed, and I could easly see my progress in every class I took. In addition to her great comprehension of the material and amazing teaching ability, she always speaks clearly and coherently. Secondly, she makes you feel comfortable so you never feel shy when you do not understand the subject. For example, I am always able to ask a question, even repeatedly, until I understand the idea exactly. Jennifer never gives up on explaining the subject again and again. She gives a lot of different examples to make the subject clear. While we are studying together, she sometimes suggests vital books for me to buy and prepares some useful handouts for me to study. The most important thing is is that she likes teaching and always is very prepared before class starts so every single moment is time well worth spending with her. In addition, whenever I ask her additional question and information, she searches for answers and/or additional materials and emails them to me. That is why I've never had any trouble to find clarification on many issues and questions. Something else to note is that she creates a weekly schedule by talking to you. She always makes herself available to you so it is easy to take a class if you have all day work or school as long as she does not have other class with her students at the same time. All in all, I highly recommend Jennifer to students who want to learn law or who are applying to law school, as well as others, who are learning English.
