I have previously taught French. • Love kids; Kids love me. I have worked with kids as a babysitter. Hello! I am a French-American writer living in NYC for the past 18 years. I was born in France and returned annually during the summer. I studied at a French high school, the 'Lycée Français de New York'. In 2009 I passed the French Literate Baccalaureate with an A- average. While in high school I took the AP French literature test and scored a 4/5. Also, I took the French language AP test and scored a 5/5. I scored 720 on the French SAT II's and 110 on the Toefl. I went to college at NYU Tisch school of the arts and majored in FIlm/TV. At NYU I took a French Cinema History class with French film critic and novelist Ludovic Courtade, also a French native. I wrote all of my essays in French and maintained an A average in that class. I am passionate about French cinema, French literature, and French culture. I feel like it compliments my American culture quite well. I do indeed consider myself to be bi-cultural. In 2014 I graduated and obtained my BFA diploma. I know how to speak, read, and write in three languages: French, English, and Spanish. I also an hold an Academic Beginner's Degree in Spanish from the Instituto Cervantez, NY, NY, and scored 610 in Spanish on the SAT II's. I believe my knowledge of these three languages helped me to approach people of different origins and cultures with an open-mind and a better understanding. It also helped me to expand my conception of the world in which we live in. I perfectly understand our schools high expectations for standardized testing can be challenging, but this is nothing we cannot overcome with good preparation. I had to adapt to the American system. I will teach your child grammar, conjugation, correct spelling, and how to read, write, and speak the language with a proper French accent. Hopefully your child will have fun learning the language. Often a child, or even an adult, may get bored with the mechanics of linguistics. I truly believe we learn better when we have a certain amount of fun, which is why I always try to make my lesson plan as entertaining as possible. Rest assured your child will not only do very well on his test, but he will also learn to speak French with confidence. Regards, Nicolas de Mones
