I received my Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Economics from the University of California in Riverside. My specialty is tutoring elementary and beginning high school math and standardized testing preparation. I have always been a good test taker, and I love showing other students some of the tips and tricks I have found successful when sitting exams. I have successfully tutored students for the SAT, GMAT, and GRE exams. I love teaching math subjects because they allow me to take complicated problems and break them down into smaller, easier pieces that can be understood more quickly. I have tutored for many years, and have received tutoring myself, and have learned many different approaches to teaching and tutoring along the way. I understand how frustrating it can be to be stuck on certain concepts, and I try to use my own experiences to help others get past those hurdles and frustrations as I did. I am patient and thoughtful, and try my best to explain concepts in relatable and easy to understand terms. I love to travel and I have lived both in the United States and in Asia. In addition to the standard subjects, I am also qualified to tutor Mandarin Chinese.
