Private tutor in New York, NY
Education
Northwestern University - Bachelors, Political Science and Film
Experience
I recently received my degree in Political Science and Film and Television from Northwestern University. I grew up in New York City, and I studied at the Allen Stevenson School and Columbia Preparatory School before moving to Chicago to attend college. I excelled as an undergrad, particularly in communication sciences and the humanities. The reason I love to teach is simple: I love academics and I love helping others overcome their obstacles to learning. I believe that everyone has their own individual method of learning. I believe I am a skilled tutor because of my ability to mold my instruction to each student's specific learning style. I also believe that a friendly and encouraging relationship between tutor and student is vital for success. I have helped students with writing college and graduate school essays, and watched them develop and grow into stronger writers, readers, and thinkers. I am most well prepared to tutor in the humanities: English, Literature, Analysis, Public Speaking, Writing, Government/ Politics, and I am also proficient at tutoring for the SAT and ACT in the reading, writing, and science sections. When I'm not teaching or studying I like to cook, go to movies, listen to music, travel, appreciate art, and enjoy all things NYC.
