Experience

Previous Experience with many students: 2 high schoolers who needed a bit of help with SAT Math preparation; GED Prep for a student seeking to go to college, and one middle schooler in Pre-Algebra, one high school freshman in English, SAT Prep, and some math, and another high schooler in geometry; tutoring a 1st grader in reading, to help her pass into 2nd grade; a 7th grader in Science and History; an 8th grader in Algebra; and a 5th grader in general math concepts; also tutored at high school in a place we call "the Nest" where students go for extra help-- I'm very willing to tutor any and all ages in almost any subject! Currently conducting research on intron targeted siRNA knockdown of genes using viral transfections. In a previous independent research project, under supervision of Dr. Leng at the Yale Medical School, I experimented with the smFRET technique, along with other electrophysiology methods to extrapolate the structure of various channel proteins. Scores of 5 on AP Exams: AB Calculus (freshman year), BC Calc & European History (sophomore year), US History & Biology & English Literature and Composition (Junior year) SAT I: Writing-800, Reading-780, Math-800 SAT II: Biology-790, Literature-730, Math II-800 National Merit Scholarship winner Wrote for the Tucson Citizen Newspaper as a Teen Columnist freshman and sophomore year. Summer of high school junior and senior year, worked in a biology laboratory doing immunohistochemistry for p63 on radiated and IGF1 treated salivary gland tissues, and immunoflourescence for BrdU and Amylase.

Hobbies

I love baking! I was the previous Director of Fundraiser for the InspireYale club at Yale, aimed at promoting happiness, creativity and thus, productivity.
