ExperienceAs a tutor, I encourage my students to come up with the answers on their own, while I offer support and ask questions. Tutors should never merely give away the answer, because a student will never learn unless they go through the process of discovery themselves. It is this process of discovery that helps the concept become ingrained in their mind and enables them to recall how they found the solution and why that solution works. I hold a bachelor's degree in biology with a minor in anthropology from Emory University. I am currently in the process of applying to medical schools, and I keep myself busy by serving as a research assistant at the Columbia University Medical Center. I spent much of my time at Emory University teaching in numerous capacities, including serving as a teaching assistant for a Biology lab course and a basic health education course and acting as a Math and Reading skills tutor for elementary and middle school students from low-income families through a university program. In my spare time, I am a huge sports enthusiast, and I love to play a good game of tennis.
