Georgia Institute of Technology-Main Campus - BS, Physics , Georgia State University - Ph.D., Astronomy
Experience
I graduated from Georgia Tech with a Bachelor of Science in Physics, and then a master's degree in Physics. Later, I attended Georgia State University, where I earned my PhD in Astronomy. My preferred subjects of study are, of course, Physics and Astronomy. However, I also have a focus in Literature, Chemistry, and Philosophy. In college, I grew more and more interested in scientific processes and that is where I discovered Physics. I had a lot of questions about the world and space. Eventually, that curiosity led me to the field of Astronomy. While I was in graduate school, I taught labs and classes to undergrads. I tutored them in math and science, individually. I acted as a research leader, who pioneered multiple projects from start to finish. All of this molded me as a teacher and even helped to polish my writing skills. I like to explain things to people. The more complicated the topic, the better! So, I find it gratifying to connect the dots in students' minds through educating.Clearly, I enjoy my fair share of science fiction. I also like to listen to music, my taste in which is very broad. Sometimes, I am also known to strum out a few chords on my guitar.
