I have been an active table tennis competitor since 1994.I maintain relationships with students by building confidence, making them feel comfortable and having fun. I make sure lesson plans cover the many activities and events taking place in and around the city, including those in students’ neighborhood. My experiences living abroad in Spain really helped me understand how isolated one can feel. Many of my students need someone to motivate them and tap into the resources outside the classroom. Inside the classroom I need to let low-literacy patients who cannot follow medical instructions that I am there for them. I also enjoy showing short clips of old and recent movies to discuss “visual clues.” I gain satisfaction when students take pride in their accomplishments.I have been an active table tennis competitor since 1994.
