Experience
I'm an honors student, earning my a BA in actuarial science (focused on communication and economics) at CUNY Baruch College. I'll also receive a degree from the Macaulay Honors College. I have experience successfully tutoring students from both junior and high school in math, specifically calculus, algebra, economics, and SAT prep. I especially care about tutoring in math because of how organized and formulaic it is. I also love seeing the students I tutor improve in areas they had been struggling with when we first met. After all, I didn't really like math until I had some incredibly inspiring math teachers. I want to inspire my students the same way my teachers did for me. As a tutor, I am organized and patient. I focus on the student's strengths and challenges, and we start there. I begin by explaining problems step by step, and go on to encourage the student to try problems on their own as they come to understand the topics. I'm available to tutor math in all its guises, as well as economics and business classes. When I'm not tutoring or studying myself, I love to read, play sports, and exercise. I especially love to read because it's relaxing. And I love sports because they're fun and stress relieving.
