Netonia has been tutoring my 16 year old daughter, a junior in a competitive public high school, in physics for a few months now, and has been extremely helpful. She had been struggling in spite of extra help from her teacher. She feels that Netonia is able to make the work understandable to her in a way her classroom teacher does not. At present, her grade has gone from a C- (before tutoring), to a B-, and she is confident that it will continue to go up. She actually looks forward to her sessions with Netonia, and they both work very hard during them. As well, Netonia is extremely conscience, and a pleasant, interesting, good natured person. I can't recommend her highly enough.
Not only is Netonia a wonderful tutor who makes studying for the SAT more enjoyable, she's a great person to be around! She's smart, understanding, humorous, and patient. You really can't go wrong with her as your tutor. Math generally isn't my best subject, but after having her as my tutor, I improved on the math section of the SAT and even raised my math grade high enough to be accepted into an AP Calculus class this semester at my high school! I always felt comfortable during our tutoring sessions and Netonia's ability to assess my strengths and weaknesses to better allocate our time together made a difference in the way I study now. 5 stars!
Netonia is competent and compassionate. She addresses content with an acute understanding of the psychological components of learning. She is prompt in her communication and creative in her pedagogy. My score was elevated by 300 points after working with Netonia for a short period of time. It was a privilege to have her as a tutor.-Lauren
Netonia is great! She is very reliable, as she answers emails quickly. She is very flexible, and tries to make sure that the times work for you. She is very organized, and makes a lesson plan so that a certain amount of work is done per week. This really helps with time management, so your not too overwhelmed and you have enough time to go over all of the questions. Furthermore, she is great at explaining things, therefore making her an amazing tutor. If you do not understand a question, she breaks it down for you into simpler topics. I 100% recommend her to anyone!
Netonia is fantastic. She's smart, reliable, hilarious, friendly, relatable, and, most importantly, a great teacher. I'm a Columbia undergrad so it is especially convenient for me that she's a Columbia grad student. I was struggling in Physics and my midterm was a week away - I had been stood up by another tutor and so I got in touch with Netonia in a panic. She called me back that day, we set up a couple meetings, and, in three days, I was more than comfortable with the problems and had gained an ability in the subject I never thought possible. As a result, we have set up a weekly session and my grade has since improved substantially. She has helped me tremendously and I highly recommend her. -Alyssa
