Would you like to enrich your learning and improve your communication skills? If so, then please consider contacting me to discuss your goals and educational needs. I'm passionate about helping students develop their potential to think critically and write persuasively. I love school, but I also believe everyone is his or her own best teacher. As a result, my approach to tutoring is Socratic: I will not tell you the answers, but rather help you develop your ability to ask the right questions, reconsider your approach and find solutions. Years of observing great thinkers and educators has shown me that learning is about taking risks and acquiring tools which will apply not just once, but for a lifetime. I work with students of all ages, but have had the most experience with high school and college-aged students. If you'd like to learn French, then we'll engage in immersion tutoring. Whether you're a beginner or writing essays at an intermediate or advanced level, I can help you achieve mastery of phonetics and grammar essentials so that you can speak, read and write comme un/e français/e. I am trained in both analytic and continental philosophy and am happy to assist college students taking introductory and more advanced classes with course material, writing assignments and logic homework. My research areas are ethics, aesthetics, epistemology and ontology. I have strong foundations in Classical thought from both the Western and Indian traditions, early Modern French thought, The Enlightenment and European thought from Hegel to the present. I am also able to assist with literature assignments if you're studying American, British or Comparative Literature at the high school, AP/IB or college-level. Of course, I cannot do your reading for you, but I can help respond to prompts and formulate essays in a thoughtful manner. Please contact me if you need help preparing college admission essays, fellowship applications, and graduate school applications.
