Education

I graduated from Bard College, NY (ranked in the top 50 best colleges) with a double B.A. in French and Creative Writing with a 3.7 GPA, class of 2014. I studied Publishing at the Columbia School of Journalism after graduating from Bard.

Experience

I tutored math, english, and SAT prep in high school and college. I have since mentored students applying to colleges and grad school, and tutored them on their personal essays. I scored 2270 (out of a combined test 2400) on my SAT 1 test in high school. I passed the AP tests for English Language, English Lit, Calculus 1, Statistics, and Art History. I love being a tutor because I enjoy helping students find their own specific way to grasp the material. Everyone learns in a different way and I love helping students discover the perspective that makes sense to them. It is important that my students come to understand the material in a way that helps them succeed on tests not because they've memorized how to take the test, but because they know the material so well they can understand what any question is looking for, and think critically about how to solve the problem.

Hobbies

I'm a very active person; I dance, do gymnastics, play badminton, ski, juggle, slack-line and more. I think activity and enjoyment are key aspects to studying, rather than sitting at a desk repeating problems for hours at a time. I am also learning sign language and am happy to practice with any other ASL students! I'm interested in all kinds of subjects, and always love learning and growing!
