Private tutor in New York, NY

Education

I am currently pursuing MBA at Baruch College. Previously, I finished my master in biology from Columbia University and bachelor in both biology and chemistry from City College of New York with 4.0 GPA. In college, I was one of the candidates for the valedictorian position for the class of 2013. After finishing my MBA, I planned to work in biotech company to leverage my skills in finance and biology. In future, I would also like to continue teaching and tutoring since I really enjoy seeing my students grow and excel in their careers.

Experience

I have started tutoring my younger friends since I was in High School through the National Honor Society. During my early college days, I would tutor many of my classmates who were struggling in basic math, biology and chemistry courses. During my junior and senior year of college, I was hired by the college’s CCAPP program to tutor wide variety of subjects that include physics, chemistry, organic chemistry, cell and molecular biology, advanced microbiology, pre-calculus, and calculus I-III and differential equations. After finishing my master, I was again hired as adjunct professor in the department of biology at City College of New York where I have been teaching for last two years. I have also been tutoring for standardized exams such as SAT, GMAT and MCAT. I scored 1550/1600 on SAT, 760/800 on GMAT math, 740/800 on GMAT verbal and 39/45 on MCAT. I really enjoyed my time tutoring these subjects in the past so I'd really like to continue tutoring in these subjects in future as well.

Hobbies

I love learning new things in life. It can be taking free online classes on ancient greek to signing up for bachata and salsa classes on weekends. I believe that you learn new things about yourself when you put yourself in unfamiliar territory. This passion has increased my appetite of learning in almost all the area of life including sports and music. My next step is to learn cooking and yoga.
