ExperienceI've tutored ESL for eight years, and increased TOEFL scores, created phrases and expressions for students to use in business meetings, been a conversation partner, explained how to write essays in English, and proofread students' essays and work documents. In particular I specialize in grammar and have studied Latin and Old English/Anglo-Saxon, so I can explain how the language evolved to this point. I've also received a CELTA (Certification in English Language Teaching to Adults).
I also know much about American history, European history, Christianity, and the American governmental system. Several of my ESL students from non-western countries asked for assistance in these areas to better understand American culture.
HobbiesI actually genuinely love studying and spend much of my free time reading books about language, history, or politics. Other than that, I fold modular and kusudama origami and recently have taken up embroidery and cross stitch.
