Shehnaz K.
Private tutor in New York, NY
Education
I am currently an NYU graduate student in the Occupational Therapy M.S. program. I received my Bachelors of Arts from CUNY Hunter where I majored in Psychology and minored in Classics.
Experience
I am a tutor with Champion Learning Center, Universal Tutors, and InstaEDU. Additionally, I worked as a Youth Leader/Mentor with young women ages 13-20 at a social services agency for Muslim domestic violence victims. In addition to being their mentor/teen coach, I was also a social justice advocate and implemented a public awareness campaign targeting bullying and discrimination towards American youth. The campaign was featured on the front page of Metro-NY and my youth group and I were asked to lead campaign workshops in various schools and libraries in New York City. I was honored by the Queens Borough President for my community service and have started a blog addressing social justice issues that face us today. I have led workshops on self-empowerment, self-esteem, and motivational speaking. I love working with youth and I love helping them find their voice in today's society.

Hobbies
I enjoy reading, exercising and blogging in addition to visiting museums and exhibits as I believe an individual must be cultured to exceed beyond the rest of the pack. I also believe in focusing on self-improvement and critical development. This means that I'm always focusing on how to be a better individual as I truly believe that self-improvement leads one to function better as a student, employee, family member and overall individual. I like working with youth in a mentor capacity.
