Experience
Hey! I'm Sandra I'm currently a third year dental student at NYU. I also graduated from there in 2014 with a bachelor's in Biology, and minors in Chemistry and Physics. I started tutoring in high school and have continued it since. I love teaching and want to pursue it as an academic faculty in the future. I think that the way concepts are traditionally taught can make learning more difficult. Textbooks and teachers follow curriculums and strict guidelines. I like to simplify things with my students. I have experience teaching in a classroom setting as well - in college I was a peer health educator and taught health classes in public schools all over NYC. Subjects I specialize in include all science classes - especially those required of pre-med students. I've tutored students in dental school as well. I have an extensive background in research as well - I worked in a DNA Nanotechnology lab for 3 years in college and presented posters at a few conferences. As someone who's deeply invested in my own education and learning, I also love working with people. I love getting to know my students and helping them achieve success academically because I know it will more than benefit them in the future. Please contact me if you have any questions about college or even medicine, not just inquiries about tutoring - would love to help in anyway I can.

Hobbies
During the day, I'm in dental school, undergoing a very rigorous curriculum. In my spare time, I'm either exploring the city - trying out different restaurants, going to art exhibits, concerts, any fun events really - I am always doing something - or I do love to spend the occasional night in with my adorable kitten, Milo.
