(4.3 Weighted) Website: www.orgotogo.com I graduated from Princeton University with a BSE in Mechanical Engineering. My areas of expertise include Algebra, Geometry, Trigonometry, Calculus, and Statistics, but I enjoy teaching Physics 1 & 2, General Chemistry 1 & 2, and Organic Chemistry 1 & 2 the most. I also have experience tutoring SAT Math, SAT Physics, SAT Chemistry, GRE, MCAT, and the NLN Nursing Exam. Over the years, I've taught scores of adult and high school students, volunteered as an IRC tutor, and taught ESL in Tokyo. From these varied experiences, I've learned the winning formula for great tutoring: patience, understanding, creativity, organization, and a strong knowledge of the subject matter. My approach is hands-on as well as holistic. My sessions are run much like a workshop where I help students work though complex material in a step-by-step fashion, giving them the assistance that most teachers or professors are unable to provide. Furthermore, I cater to the student's personality. I believe anxious, disorganized, or gifted students can perform better when taught proper patience, organizational, and planning skills. This is why most of my students show an immediate improvement after just a few sessions with me. Testimonials: Charles is an exceptional tutor. He has infinite patience with all of his students. He has a remarkable ability to decipher the learning styles of each child and adapt his lesson plans accordingly. He genuinely cares for his students and wants them to succeed. He is a man you don't meet everyday! --Maureen Hickey Speaking as someone who worked for a private tutoring company, I thought I pretty much knew how to take standardized tests, but Charles showed me methods that are much smarter than other methods. He actually taught me HOW to do the problem correctly and quickly instead of how to eliminate answer choices and guess. I have never had a teacher come so prepared or be so immediately helpful. He took me step-by-step through each problem and wrote it all out for me. I plan on working with Charles again before taking the GRE. --Matthew Ferraro
