EducationI am a Junior majoring in Neural Science and minoring in middle eastern studies at New York University.
ExperienceDuring high school, I was a member of the National Honors Society for which I was required to tutor middle school students. I tutored one student in English writing while my other student learned general Math, science and social studies from me. I also volunteered at Variety Child Learning Center for the Social Skills program where I helped children with ADD, ADHD and children with autism. During this experience, I have learned how tutoring not only helps these students, but also helps me grow. Through my students, I learned a lot, most importantly I learned to be patient. It was this symbiotic relationship between a tutor and his or her student that has attracted me the most towards this field. As a tutor, I have the ability to work with children, which I enjoy greatly.
I would be most interested in teaching science courses because I am a premed student majoring in science. I am currently taking Intro to Biology and Chemistry and next year I will be involved in more advanced sciences. In high school, I earned a grade of 5 in both Biology and Chemistry. In AP Calculus AB, I earned a grade of 4. In various history courses, such as AP World History and European History, I earned a grade of 5 and 4.
HobbiesI greatly enjoy playing the flute and doing Indian dancing. I also enjoy various physical activities such as running and biking. Academically, I like participating in research projects and then I compete at various research fairs.
