EducationI have completed my Bachelor degree at the University of Rhode Island earning a double major in English and Writing & Rhetoric. I am now working on my Master's degree at NYU.
ExperienceDuring my junior year I took a course where I studied the practice of tutoring writing. After completing the course, I spent a semester as a tutor in the URI Writing Center. I attended the 2011 Northeast Writing Centers Association (NEWCA) conference where I participated in workshops and met with writing tutors from several other universities. I, along with two other URI writing tutors, presented at the 2012 NEWCA conference at St. Johns University in Queens.
In addition to tutoring, I spent several semesters working as a copy editor. I have interned with local newspaper, magazine and book publications.
While I have a keen eye for catching errors, my tutoring philosophy is to help any writer at any level find the best individual approaches to writing. Writing doesn't have to be stressful or overwhelming. I would love to work with you to ease some of your anxiety and provide you with any guidance you might need! I will work with students writing on any topic in any form from research papers to poetry! Whether you are just brainstorming, working on an outline, on your first draft or during revision, I can help in any part of the process.
