EducationI studied Mathematics and Physics at New York University and graduated with Honors in May of 2012. I conducted research at the Chemistry Department and worked with an educational company in lower Manhattan.
ExperienceThe reason that most students end up struggling with mathematics and the sciences is not because of its level of difficulty. On the contrary, it has to due with the way it is currently being presented in high schools across the state. Teachers simply fail to recognize their own flaws in presenting the subject while the students fail to ask the proper questions. I have found great success in tutoring not because of my knowledge of the material but rather because I motivate my students to ask questions at every step of the way. My goal is to allow them to discover the subject on their own accord. This way, instead of memorizing the material, they learn it and grow to enjoy it.
I started tutoring my peers back in high school because of my interest in the field of Mathematics. I have always found Math an interesting subject and enjoy interacting with other people and teaching them things that I know and love.
