ExperienceI'm not your typical Math major; I understand how tough it can be and I'm a friendly, patient and versatile tutor.
I have 5 years of tutoring experience: throughout college, I tutored fellow Brown students in Single and Multivariable Calculus, and last year, I became certified by the Princeton Review as an SAT teacher in Math, Writing, and Verbal.
Different students have different needs, and as a tutor, I'm very adaptable to those needs. If the subject we're covering isn't really your thing, and your goal is just to get through a tough class, to finish an agonizing paper, or to ace a standardized test, I can teach to those needs - we can power through it, and I'll make sure that you know everything you need to know to get the results that you want.
On the other hand, if at any point you're intrigued by what we're studying, we can delve deeper into those subjects, go above and beyond - we can prove theorems, talk about books, or whatever. I have a lot of knowledge to share, and I love sharing it. I love helping people see the fun and the beauty in something that before, they might have thought to be dry - whether its math, literature or a standardized test.
Either way, I always become very invested in the success of my tutees. I justlove teaching, so let me help!
Here are the test scores that I put on my college application:
Math: 800, Verbal 760, Writing 730
SAT Subject tests:
Math 2C: 800
Calculus AB: 5
Calculus BC: 5
English Language: 5
Spanish Language: 4
Physics C: 4
(I still have all of my old books and study guides, and am very familiar with the formatting of these tests and effective test-taking skills)
HobbiesI'm an artist, a writer, and a musician, but my true passion is teaching.
